The Department of Economic Affairs (“WiRef”) takes care of everything that has to do with money, contracts, grants, payments, reimbursements, the ÖH insurance and the like. It is, so to speak, the “Ministry of Finance” of the Austrian National Union of Students (ÖH).
In addition to the volunteers (Wiref and Deputy Wiref, if necessary SBs), three salaried bookkeepers, two people in the IT department and a salaried clerk take care of these tasks.
Tasks:
- ÖH student fee collection, administration and distribution
- Preparation of annual estimates and financial statements
- Budget planning and current financial management and accounting Financial regulations, valid from 01.11.2022
- Review and approval of all ÖH payments
- Accompanying financial support of the ÖH projects
- Responsibility for accounting and financial management
- Negotiation and conclusion of cooperation, sponsorship and advertising contracts (media data)
- Acquisition of third-party funds from public authorities
- Subsidy allocation and processing, special project support.
- Student liability and accident insurance
- Coordination of the economic units of all university representatives
- Filling of various unpaid positions on the Supervisory Board
- Provision and maintenance of the ÖH infrastructure
- Organization of internal processes and support services
- Manage and coordinate the expenditures of the representative offices at colleges of education, private universities, and universities of applied sciences.
