University and representation 2.0
A TRAINING AND NETWORKING WEEKEND OF THE AUSTRIAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT BODY
The training and networking weekend is to be designed for chairs (current and potential future), staff members in the Education Policy Unit of the University Councils, future Bipol staff members, and members of the Senate Student Curia. It is, of course, also possible for members of student councils to participate. The training weekend is intended to provide student representatives with the necessary knowledge for their representation work. Ideally, all participants should have a basic understanding of the UG and their own bylaws beforehand.
- When: March 22 – 24, 2019
- Training location: Spital am Pyhrn
- Overnight stay: JUFA Pyhrn – Priel
- Participants: Max. 30 people
The Austria-wide participation of the participants results in a networking character that is extremely valuable for the various student representatives from all university sectors. This promotes cooperation and collaboration on future projects, as well as knowledge sharing.
- UG list of demands to the ministry (with setting of priorities)
- Communication and Networking – What kind of space/opportunities can BV Bipol provide in the future to support communication between Bipol units?
- “Better studying” – “Part-time studying” – “Status: Part-time study”.
Trainers:
- Rhea Göschl (Department for Public Relations and Department for International Affairs of the ÖH 2015-17; Chair of the ÖH Klagenfurt/Crlovec 2014-16;…)
- Robert Jarczyk (Bipolrefent of the ÖH 2016-17; HTU Vienna chair 2013-15;…)
Rhea Göschl and Robert Jarczyk completed the tutorial trainer course together in 2018 and have been working as freelance trainers ever since. Prior to that, both were involved at all ÖH levels (StV, UV, BV) and were members of various committees of the ÖH federal representation and at their home universities Klagenfurt and TU Vienna. Rhea’s focus was on public relations as well as international education policy. Robert put his main focus especially on the work in the educational field of internal organization as well as workflow professionalization.
Lecturer:
- Stefan Huber (CHSH)
- Eugenio Gualtieri (CHSH)
Stefan Huber and his team at CHSH provide ongoing representation in student law matters, often acting for students, but sometimes also for educational institutions. CHSH works for a wide range of student organizations. The university law “highlights” include the successful challenge of the so-called “autonomous” tuition fees and several rulings on questions of the recognition of examinations, but also on the period of entitlement to social benefits.
