About 9,000 people study at a total of 12 private universities in Austria. Through the Department for Private University Affairs, these students are also given a voice within and also outside of the ÖH.
Compared to public universities, there are some differences, such as tuition fees. Moreover, private universities are not regulated by the Universities Act, but by a separate law. Therefore, it is important to actively represent students and advise them when problems arise.
