Austria is sending a strong signal for threatened students who are denied the right to education in their home countries because of their identity or their political or civic engagement: with the new Students at Risk (StAR) Fund, up to 50 scholarships will be awarded in the upcoming academic year, starting now. Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs in Austria are supported with € 1,200 per month for the duration of studies plus two additional semesters.
Applications are submitted through an Austrian university where the admission has already been granted. After nomination by the institution, a selection committee consisting of thematic experts, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF), the Austrian National Union of Students (ÖH), and the Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD), decides on the award .You can find all further Informationen on the program and application process here.
