For many students, studying has become a side job: 69% of students in Austria work alongside their studies, with the majority working more than 20 hours per week.
Most students need this work primarily to cover their living expenses. Until higher education finally becomes affordable for everyone, the motto is: Know your rights!
Many people juggle side jobs, have to complete mandatory internships, or gain their first experiences in the working world in other ways— often without clearly knowing what rights they are entitled to. To support students in this, the FAKTory and the ÖH support you with:
- Facts about your employment rights: Minimum wage, working hours, breaks, vacation, and sick leave— also for internships.
- Advice directly on campus: Junior advisors are available to assist you personally with your questions.
- We bring your concerns to the table: Digital suggestion box, surveys, or your direct involvement— let us know what concerns you have about work and your studies.
Dates
On the following dates, we will be directly on your university campus offering information and support regarding your employment rights:
- Tuesday, October 21st (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at TU Wien
- Wednesday, October 22nd (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at the main building of the University of Vienna
- Thursday, October 23rd (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) at the new institute building of the University of Vienna
- Thursday, October 30th (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna
